A great guest experience starts long before the guest arrives. Are you ready to make every purchase count?

At The Social House, we’re more than a hotel. We’re a collection of experiences, stories and spaces designed to inspire connection.

Behind every exceptional experience is a team making thoughtful decisions, building meaningful partnerships and ensuring every detail comes together seamlessly.

We’re looking for a commercially astute, strategic and results-driven Procurement Manager to lead our procurement function and help shape how we source, negotiate and deliver value across the House.

If you’re a skilled negotiator, a natural relationship builder and a strategic thinker who knows how to balance cost, quality and operational excellence, this could be your next opportunity.

About the Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you’ll lead the procurement function, ensuring that the goods and services required to run our business are sourced efficiently, competitively and to the highest standards.

From developing sourcing strategies and negotiating supplier contracts to driving cost optimisation, managing procurement risks and developing your team, you’ll play a key role in supporting operational efficiency and financial performance.

You’ll work closely with Finance, Kitchen, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Engineering, Stores and other departments to ensure the right products and services reach the right teams at the right time.

Your mission? Turn procurement into a strategic advantage; creating value, strengthening partnerships and making smarter spending decisions without compromising the guest experience.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

1. Procurement Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business priorities, operational requirements and financial objectives.

  • Lead annual and periodic procurement planning based on departmental needs, budgets and consumption trends.

  • Develop sourcing strategies across Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Engineering, Maintenance, operating supplies and services.

  • Identify opportunities for strategic sourcing, supplier consolidation, product standardisation and cost optimisation.

  • Monitor market trends, commodity prices, supplier developments and supply chain risks to inform purchasing decisions.

2. Supplier Management & Commercial Negotiations

  • Lead supplier sourcing, evaluation, onboarding and performance management.

  • Negotiate competitive pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, quality specifications and contractual agreements.

  • Build and maintain strong, professional supplier relationships that deliver long-term value.

  • Conduct supplier performance reviews and implement corrective actions where necessary.

  • Develop alternative supplier partnerships to minimise supply disruptions and reduce dependency on individual suppliers.

  • Ensure suppliers consistently meet agreed quality, service and delivery standards.

3. Cost Optimisation & Financial Performance

  • Drive procurement savings while protecting product quality and service standards.

  • Conduct price comparisons, market benchmarking and commercial evaluations.

  • Monitor procurement expenditure against approved budgets and identify opportunities to improve value for money.

  • Analyse spending patterns to identify savings opportunities, purchasing inefficiencies and unnecessary expenditure.

  • Reduce avoidable emergency purchases, wastage and other preventable costs.

  • Provide reliable spend analysis and recommendations to support financial planning and business decisions.

4. Procurement Operations & Execution

  • Oversee the full procurement cycle, from approved requisitions and sourcing to purchase orders, delivery and invoice processing.

  • Ensure purchase orders are accurate, properly authorised and processed within agreed timelines.

  • Monitor outstanding orders and follow up to ensure timely delivery.

  • Maintain complete procurement documentation, including quotations, approvals, purchase orders, delivery notes and invoices.

  • Resolve pricing, quality, quantity, specification, delivery and invoicing discrepancies.

  • Ensure purchasing activities meet operational requirements without compromising established controls.

5. Quality, Inventory & Supply Planning

  • Ensure goods and services meet approved specifications and quality standards.

  • Collaborate with Kitchen, F&B, Housekeeping, Engineering, Stores and other departments to understand demand and operational priorities.

  • Align purchasing decisions with stock levels, consumption patterns and forecast requirements.

  • Minimise stock-outs, overstocking, wastage and obsolete inventory through effective planning.

  • Analyse consumption trends and support accurate demand forecasting.

  • Work with operational teams to improve stock availability, accountability and resource utilisation.

6. Compliance, Governance & Financial Controls

  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, approval limits and internal control procedures.

  • Promote transparency, fairness, integrity and accountability throughout the purchasing process.

  • Maintain appropriate segregation of duties and ensure supplier selection is properly documented.

  • Identify procurement risks, control weaknesses and potential conflicts of interest, escalating concerns appropriately.

  • Support internal and external audits with accurate records and supporting documentation.

  • Provide Finance and Management with reliable procurement expenditure reports and forecasts.

7. Reporting, Performance & Continuous Improvement

  • Prepare regular procurement performance, expenditure and savings reports.

  • Monitor key performance indicators, including supplier performance, cost savings, lead times, stock availability and compliance.

  • Develop and maintain procurement dashboards to support visibility and informed decision-making.

  • Analyse procurement data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.

  • Identify and implement process improvements that strengthen efficiency, cost control and accountability.

  • Promote the effective use of ERP, procurement and inventory management systems.

8. Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach and develop the procurement team to deliver consistent performance.

  • Set clear objectives, responsibilities and performance expectations.

  • Monitor performance against agreed KPIs and provide regular feedback.

  • Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, integrity and continuous improvement.

  • Encourage initiative, professional development and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
